Dr. Darryl Roberts

Rev. Dr. Roberts serves as pastor of the historic Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, Washington, DC, where he was installed on February 19, 2017.

Dr. Roberts was licensed to preach the Gospel in 1997 and ordained in 2005 by Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. at Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. From 2011 to 2016, Rev. Roberts served as Senior Pastor of Mount Welcome Missionary Baptist Church, after serving as the Assistant Pastor of the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia from 2007 to 2011.

Dr. Roberts earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa., and advanced his preparation for ministry at the University of Chicago, where he obtained a Masters of Divinity Degree. Rev. Roberts obtained a Doctor of Juris Prudence degree from Boston College Law School. Finally, desiring to meld his interests in parish ministry with a passion for scholarship, Rev. Roberts pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Christian Ethics from Emory University’s Ethics & Society Program.

He is married to Dr. Laura Morgan Roberts and they are the proud parents of two young children, Anaiah and Isaiah.
