The New Era Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia have joined forces to create the latest Covenant of Action. This new covenant is steered by the visionary leadership of the Dr. Douglas Stowers, president of the New Era Missionary Baptist Convention and Pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Atlanta, and Rev. Frank Broome, CBF Georgia’s executive coordinator. Each organization includes churches across the state of Georgia. Like all Covenants of Action, New Era and Georgia CBF are coming together with a plan to match words with action, to create a vibrant, unified community and demonstrate the Kingdom of God.

The more these leaders spoke, the more that they found that each group was dealing with similar issues and realized that by working together they would be able to overcome these shared challenges, and in doing so build bridges where there were once divides. Working with the New Baptist Covenant, they’ve made plans to bring Baptist brothers and sisters together from both organizations, opening a new chapter in the partnership.

They came together to sign their official covenant in Stone Mountain, Georgia, at the recent CBF Georgia General Assembly that took place on April 15-16.
