Dear New Baptist Covenant Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write you to inform you of my departure from the New Baptist Covenant. After much prayer and discernment, I feel the spirit of God leading me to the local church and new fields of ministry.
As I transition from this role and organization, I would like to thank all of you for the chance to work and serve along side you. For nearly a year, I have grown close to many of you as we have worked together telling the story of how Baptists are building communities of racial reconciliation all over the country. It has truly been my joy to meet so many of you and work together with you for a better society. Your passions, wisdom, insight, and your deep love of God, Christ, culture, neighbor, and self all truly inspire me. I continue to look forward to the powerful work that NBC will continue to do to help transform our society.
Thank you again for the ways that you all have encouraged me, supported me, been patient with me, and have even been open to learning from me. I would especially like to thank my friend and colleague, Hannah McMahan for her incredible leadership and the opportunity to collaborate with her in this work.
I wish all of you well and pray God’s peace and blessing as you all continue forth.
Reverend Elijah R. Zehyoue
